Tumia Frog Hanging Decoration
Why is it useful to attach a dangle to a Chimney SheepÂź?
Although each of our Chimney SheepÂź comes with a safety tag attached to the handle, a dangle will add an extra bit of âwowâ to your fireplace. It is also a great decoration for your home and can be used as a quirky Christmas tree decoration.
More importantly, this metal fish decoration acts as an extra reminder that there is a draught excluder in your chimney. This is really important because although Chimney SheepÂź are fire retardant (and will give off a rather poignant scent to alert you if it is accidentally lit) if you wish to light your fire, you must ALWAYS remove your Chimney SheepÂź. The person who lights the fire, will not necessarily be the same person that inserted the Chimney SheepÂź draught excluder, so a visible dangle acts as a great reminder that there is a Chimney SheepÂź and will eliminate any risk of your sheep getting a little hot and bothered!
Â
How do I attach this to my Chimney SheepÂź?
To add it to your Chimney SheepÂź, undo the chain on the safety dangle that says âdonât ewe forget about meâ (all our Chimney SheepÂź come with these), thread it through the small hanging loop at the back of the dangle and re-fix it onto the Chimney SheepÂź handle.
Â
Where is this dangle made?
Our unique, iridescent fish dangles have been made by a group of talented craftsmen and women in Mexico who produce quality metal crafts and gifts using recycled tin and scrap metal. It isnât just fish we sell either, we also have geckos, frogs, hummingbirds and more which are all made in the same way! We source them from a company called Tumia who has been working with communities in Latin America since 1978. The company was a pioneer in Fairtrade practices, creating an organisation that was a viable business that aimed to help address poverty.
